After arriving from Vang Vieng in the afternoon, checking into our hotel and taking a well deserved shower, we went straight out again to explore the streets. Strolling along the Mekong River and through the beautiful city of Luang Prabang in the warm late afternoon light was delightful. Some of the buildings gave a perfect impression of being somewhere in France on a very hot day. Amazing architecture in a setting where you least expect it is always a treat. Intricate details on the houses and the very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere set the stress level extremely low. Walk slow and enjoy was our mantra.
