Spontaneous Sunset Drive
Drive-by Snapshots | Austin Mini | Mazda Miata NA
While working on a design project the whole day, I didn’t notice in time that the sun had come out to shine on the colourful autumn leaves. Seeing how late it was already, I called a friend to ask if she would like to join for a spontaneous sunset drive. We met twenty minutes later at the half way point and tried to find a good location for a photo shoot.
By now he sun had decided to call it a day and was hiding behind a wall of clouds, not willing to co-operate. Oh well, better luck next time.
With dry roads devoid of any traffic we decided to go for a spirited drive instead. We eventually stopped at a rest area for a chat. The light being far from ideal to get any proper shots, we decided to wait until the blue hour.
I didn’t bring my tripod along and therefore it was a matter of hit and miss, with a turnout of roughly ten percent of the pictures being usable. Content with the outcome, we took some winding roads back to base. Once more the old saying proved to be true that spontanous is best. Get out and drive before the season is over and the old beauties are hibernating in the shed.
